OUR START

Kastner Land Services, LLC is the culmination of the knowledge and experience of 20 years and three generations of professional land experience. During this time, Kastner Land Services has become an established player in field land services. Starting as a family company and remaining rooted in a sense of duty, KLS has grown through the values of integrity, hard work, accountability and transparency.

President

CHRIS KASTNER

Chris is a graduate of Texas A&M and a third generation landman with more than 10 years in the oil and gas industry. He has successful project management experience from the lease to the pipeline in existing and emerging unconventional plays throughout Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is a member of AAPL, FWAPL, and YPE.

DAWN DIAZ

Dawn is a graduate of the University of New York at Geneseo, and has managed title abstract crews for over 15 years in 4 states. Currently directing the company’s operations in the Utica Shale, Dawn’s past 4 years with the company have included implementing a training program that expanded the company tenfold, managing a crew of 130 in the Barnett Shale, running a five-county, 5200 acre railroad lease project in NE Ohio, and managing a crew of over 60 landmen working over 85,000 acres in Utica. Dawn is an active member of the AAPL, and YPE.

Abraham Zayed, JD

Abe received his M.A. in International Relations from the University of Akron before attending law school at Case Western Reserve University as the recipient of the Hugo Grotius International Law School While at Case Western, Abe was a member of the Dean’s List and recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Abe was admitted to the Ohio bar in May of 2011 with a 99th percentile score on the bar exam. Before joining the team at Kastner Land, Abe worked with Baker & Hostetler, The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and served a Congressional Internship for the 109th United States Congress.Since joining Kastner Land in 2011, Abe has managed a number of projects throughout the Utica Shale for a number of clients. His responsibilities have included the managing of abstracting, leasing, curative, due diligence, division order, and unitization projects. Abe has been vital in the training of over 100 landmen. When he is not working, Abe enjoys spending time with his four kids and particularly enjoys coaching baseball.

JOSEPH STELZER, JD

Born and raised in the DFW Metroplex, Joseph is a proud graduate of the University of Texas, McCombs School of Business and The University of Houston Law Center. Employed full-time during law school, Joseph worked day jobs as an accountant, a high school tutor, and a clerk for Judge Josefina Rendon of the 165th District Court in Houston, all while attending classes at night.

Licensed in Texas since 2010, Joseph has worked on every stage of oil and gas title from due diligence to curative, with experience in Texas, New Mexico, Ohio and Pennsylvania, both as a field landman and title attorney. Joseph currently oversees projects in more than a dozen counties in the Marcellus and Utica Shales.

KRISTI JARVIS

A native of Dallas and a graduate of Dallas Baptist University, Kristi Jarvis began working as a Field Landman with Kastner Land Services 5 years ago in Fort Worth, TX, and gained valuable title, leasing and project management experience in the Barnett, Utica and Marcellus Shale Plays. Kristi was part of our first assignment in the Appalachian Basin and she has played an integral role over the last 4 years planning, implementing, organizing and directing day to day tasks. She currently oversees curative, due diligence, title and abstracting for multiple clients in 15+ counties in Utica and Marcellus Shales. Kristi is an active member of AAPL and YPE.

ASHLEY WALDECK

Ashley is a graduate of the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Her experience spans across multiple plays in several states including Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, and New Mexico. During her time with the company, she has successfully managed large crews overseeing abstracting, leasing, and curative operations in the Barnett Shale, Permian Basin, and Powder River Basin. Ashley is a RPL and is a member of the AAPL and YPE.

The KLS team of landmen produce detailed reports that trace ownership from the earliest record to present following complicated heirship and sales paths. Our teams comb through thousands of documents to provide a detailed report of title, saving time and money. KLS has produced projects that include mineral and surface ownerships, royalty interests, leasehold interest, run sheets, flowcharts, GIS mapping and more.

KLS landmen have and continue to work in every cutting-edge play including the Rockies, Mid Continent, Texas and the East Coast. Our land professionals are people-oriented and trained to negotiate the best terms for our clients and are always professional and courteous to surface and mineral owners. We are committed to maintaining good community relationships everywhere we work.

We emphasize accurate title research/reports and lease preparation, as well as effective, professional communication with lessors. From cold calls and written submittals to personal meetings and organized events, our land professionals are focused, considerate and effective.

KLS has an A+ reputation with clients and attorneys, building the foundation of a business based on referrals and long-term relationships, due to their dedication to excellence.

Kastner Land Services landmen and attorneys are committed to staying ahead of drilling schedules and closing deadlines. KLS staff are familiar with all types of industry agreements from Farmout Agreements to Joint Operating Agreements.

MAPPING AND GIS

The GIS and Mapping teams at Kastner have been professionally trained and academically certified for the specific needs of the oil and gas industry. KLS puts its GIS specialists to work to ensure that it produces the right solution for clients, working with the latest technology and web based solutions to provide easy access for clients.

Legacy GIS features the ESRI ArcGIS system, which is interactive with most client’s in-house software. Whether it is mapping to support a lease take-off, parcel mapping, mapping of well sites, drilling units, geological or geophysical data, using visual tools will drive smarter decisions with less wasted time or resources.

Contributing to education support in communities through school programs is realized in our ongoing relationships with United Way, Communities in Schools and Boys and Girls Club. We make contributions to serve families through our dedication to Meals on Wheels, and Shriners Hospital for Children. Through Warriors for Freedom and the National Military Family Association, we give back to our military and their families

Each quarter, our employees nominate a non-profit 503(c)(3) organization to support, and Kastner Land Services matches whatever funds are raised each period. KLS also hosts annual events to raise funds for rotating charities and community programs.
